Preliminary Production Economics

Build a More Defensible KNK-310 ROI Estimate

Model output, direct labor, material assumptions and project investment using your own operating data. The calculator shows contribution margin and simple payback—not a guaranteed financial return.

Values update automatically. Defaults are examples only and should not be treated as confirmed KNK performance or market pricing.

Project assumptions

Use non-negative values in USD. Enter the output validated for your product, material and configuration.

Production plan
Whole KNK-310 lines included in the project.
Planned production days, excluding shutdowns.
Replace this example with the output validated for your pad size, layout, material and shift plan.
Commercial and material assumptions
Use your approved nesting or trial comparison; no saving is assumed by default.
For example: utilities, packaging consumables and other unit-linked costs.
Labor and investment assumptions
Maintenance allowance, supervision, rent or other project-specific costs.
Include equipment, tooling, shipping, installation and other capital items relevant to your project.

Leaving a cost field at zero excludes that cost from the estimate. This can materially overstate contribution margin and shorten the displayed payback period.

Calculation Scope

Understand what the estimate represents

The result is useful for early screening only. A commercial proposal requires confirmed product trials, project scope and local cost data.

Included in the calculation

These values come directly from the assumptions entered above.

  • Planned saleable production volume
  • Estimated sales revenue
  • Baseline material cost and entered reduction
  • Entered variable cost per 1,000 pieces
  • Direct operating labor
  • Entered monthly operating costs

Not automatically included

Add these items through the available cost fields or assess them separately.

  • Tax, financing cost and currency movement
  • Sales commissions, returns and bad debt
  • Unplanned downtime, scrap and quality loss
  • Depreciation and accounting treatment
  • Building modifications and permitting
  • Working capital and inventory requirements

Simple payback formula: total entered project investment ÷ estimated monthly contribution margin. It does not account for the time value of money, financing structure or tax and therefore is not the same as a full investment appraisal.

Convert the estimate into a project-specific analysis

Send your product drawing, material structure, target output, destination and packaging plan. KNK can review the machine configuration and identify which assumptions require trials or commercial confirmation.

This calculator provides a preliminary estimate for discussion purposes only. It is not a quotation, guarantee, accounting opinion, financial advice or promise of machine performance. Confirm equipment output, staffing, material usage and project cost in the applicable technical and commercial documents.
