KNK-310 Core Technology

Cotton Pad Cutting and Forming Technology

Understand how servo-controlled motion, thermal forming, customized embossing and rotary die-cutting work together—and which variables must be validated for your material and product design.

Three coordinated systems shape the finished pad

Each system contributes to repeatability, product appearance and changeover flexibility. Final performance depends on the complete machine configuration rather than any single component.

7-Axis Independent Servo Control

Seven independently controlled servo axes coordinate key feeding, forming, cutting and discharge functions. Digital parameter control supports repeatable synchronization and makes product-specific adjustments more manageable than a fixed mechanical timing setup.

Operating parameters can be adjusted for the confirmed product setup.
Axis synchronization is tuned during commissioning and material trials.
The validated operating window depends on web behavior and tooling load.

Servo control does not by itself guarantee a particular speed or tension result. Those values must be confirmed for the selected material, pad layout and machine configuration.

Surface and Edge Forming

Thermal Bonding, Embossing and Lock-Edge

For compatible product structures, controlled heat and pressure form the multilayer web without adding chemical adhesive. Customized rollers create the approved surface pattern and lock-edge appearance while the process window is matched to the selected material.

Embossing and edge tooling are designed around the approved product.
Temperature, pressure and speed are established through trials.
Finished samples are checked for appearance and layer cohesion.

Adhesive-free thermal bonding applies only when the selected layer structure and material respond appropriately to the validated process. It should not be presented as universal compatibility.

Customized Rotary Die-Cutting

The rotary cutting mold defines the finished shape and dimensions. Round, square, oval and custom products can be evaluated by designing the cutting layout within the 310 mm material width and matching the mold to the approved drawing.

Replaceable tooling supports different product shapes and sizes.
Across-web layout is calculated from dimensions, shape and cutting gaps.
Cut quality is assessed against the approved drawing and sample criteria.

Dimensional tolerance, edge quality, output rate and tool life depend on the mold design, material, maintenance and accepted operating conditions. Confirm these items in the technical agreement.

Flexible Production Platform

The main machine stays; the product setup changes

KNK-310 refers to the 310 mm total material width—not a fixed pad dimension. A new SKU is evaluated through its drawing, material structure, tooling, web layout and operating parameters.

01

Product drawing

Defines shape, dimensions, surface and edge requirements.

02

Tooling package

Includes the cutting, embossing and edge-forming components required.

03

Web layout

Determines the practical number of products formed across the material width.

04

Process parameters

Coordinates speed, heat, pressure and servo timing for the approved setup.

Engineering Validation

How performance should be confirmed

Technical claims are useful only when the product, material and acceptance criteria are defined. KNK uses a project-specific confirmation process.

1

Requirement review

Confirm pad drawing, material structure, target quality, output and packaging boundary.

2

Tooling and layout

Develop the mold concept and determine the practical arrangement within the web width.

3

Material trial

Establish an operating window and evaluate forming, cutting and finished-pad quality.

4

Acceptance criteria

Record the agreed machine configuration, sample standard and FAT requirements.

Published examples and images illustrate equipment capabilities; they do not replace the model-specific technical specification, approved sample or project agreement.
